Holiday Accommodation
Madagascar has only developed as a holiday destination of during the past 15 years, so don't expect all the accommodation to be to international hotel standard. That said, there are some delightful hotels which offer a warm welcome, comfortable rooms, excellent leisure facilities and delicious local cuisine.

Le Relais de la Reine
This spectacular hotel is almost invisible as it is built into the rock landscape. There is a pool with comfortable recliners and a tennis court. The elegant restaurant has a huge veranda and serves beautifully presented food.

Chez Maggie
A romantic hide-away in a secluded garden setting on the beach. A small, intimate property, Chez Maggie is known by locals and international travelers alike. Each of the 2-storey bungalows has it’s own unique and distinctive style and is air-conditioned. All feature a large lounge area, brightly tiled bathrooms and handpicked artwork. The restaurant known as Masoandro offers delicious seafood provided daily by local fishermen and prepared to perfection by the resident chef.

Vakona Forest Lodge
Vakona Lodge is an impressive property situated in the heart of Madagascar's Andasibe (Perinet) Forest. The 24 bungalows all have their own en suite bathrooms, and there is a swimming pool, central bar and dining area. While staying at Vakona Lodge guests can explore the nearby Andasibe National Park. Accompanied by your driver and local guide you can explore this famous reserve on foot, both by night and day, at your own pace.

Vanila Hotel
Vanila hotel is about 40 minutes drive from the airport and on the way you are likely to see brightly coloured chameleons in the trees. The drive takes you through Ylang Ylang plantations and the smells are divine. If Vanila Hotel is your first stop you will be met with garlands of fresh perfumed frangipani flowers. The hotel has 18 rooms on three levels overlooking the beach and 17 garden facing rooms with 2 VIP suites with Jacuzzi on the balconies.

Residence Camelia
This lovely guesthouse situated in the old French part of town is a ten minute walk from the town centre. Eleven rooms surrounded by a lush garden filled with magnificent orchids. All rooms are nicely furnished with en suite bathrooms (shower & toilet), small desk, comfortable bed and little patio with table and chairs. Excellent restaurant offering a choice of three set menus. The staff speak basic English and the service in general is really friendly.

Palissandre Hotel and Spa
Perched on the slope of a hill, 5 minutes drive from the business centre of Tana, the Royal Palissandre offers stunning view over the town. There are 46 spacious rooms, reflecting traditional Malagasy architecture with pink-coloured bricks, Matasoa stone, rosewood and marble. La Palissandre offers all the facilities of a modern hotel - bedrooms are equipped with TV, air-conditioning, IDD telephones, room safe, mini bar, bathroom with shower, hairdryer and desk.

Setam Lodge
The lodge is set above the forested river valley near the entrance to the Ranomafana National Park. It has a large Malagasy and Oriental restaurant with huge glass windows offering great views of the rainforest that surrounds the lodge. There is also a beautiful breakfast veranda with comfortable garden furniture and umbrellas. Its 20 twin or double rooms are housed in 10 separate single story bungalows set on a steep hillside. Setam Lodge, despite its simplicity, is well located and provides the best facilities in the area.
